“Finding your voice is not as easy at it sounds. It comes naturally to some, but for others, our insecurities can turn us into our own worst enemy.

After doctors dismantled my face to remove a tumor the size of an orange, I was left with more than physical scars. I was told I wouldn’t live 18 months. It has now been 35 years. Hallelujah!

Some friends told me I should share my story. I declined, because I didn’t think the public would want to listen to an old dude with scars. Then my gorgeous wife Wendy said something I will never forget, and so I wrote this song as a dedication to her for what she said. May the words nourish you as they nourished me.”
